Learn with us – around the Triangle

There are many opportunities to learn about plants, gardening, and nature in the Triangle. Some of the local lectures and programs presented in Durham require registration, and by the time they’re featured in our Saturday “Learn With Us” posts, they may be full. To give our readers a chance to sign up for more programs, we will be sharing the link to Triangle Gardener’s events page periodically.

Triangle Gardener Podcast

by Ann Barnes

Triangle Gardener Magazine, a wonderful local gardening publication (both in print and online) now features a podcast produced by Lise Jenkins and hosted by Dan Mason, both Extension Master Gardener Volunteers in Durham County. The podcast shares “audio stories exploring gardening in North Carolina”. In the inaugural episode, Dan Mason visits a tobacco barn and remembers summers spent working on his aunt and uncle’s farm. Whether you are a native who remembers working on a tobacco farm or a “transplant” who has often wondered about the tobacco barns dotting our rural landscape, you will not want to miss this.
