The next Durham Garden Forum meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, March 19 from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM at the Doris Duke Center, Sarah P. Duke Gardens. There is no charge for parking.
The topic for the March program is Cut Flowers in the Home Garden, presented by Alicain Carlson, graduate research assistant at North Carolina State University studying various aspects of production and post harvest of specialty cut flowers under Dr. John Dole. She received her MS degree from NCSU in 2010 and is currently working on a PhD in Floriculture. Alicain will cover bed preparation, how to grow doable cut flowers, some of the new varieties, arrangements, cutting and preserving.
We will be raffling off two gift certificates to a local nursery so please join us.
Any new member joining in March will have an extended membership period through April 30, 2014. Membership dues remain $25 ($15 for students). Invite your friends and neighbors. Non-members are always welcome.
