Ask A Master Gardener

The Ask a Master Gardener Program is an opportunity for members of the community to ask questions about gardening and learn more about the NC State Extension Master GardenerSM program. Durham County Master Gardener volunteers are available to provide answers using research-based information about plants and plant problems.

You’ll find Master Gardener volunteers at the following community events ready for your questions: 

Saturday, April 12 & 19: Durham Farmer’s Market at Central Park, 8 am – 12 Noon

Saturday, April 12: Ment Beverage Co/Honeygirl Meadery at Love Durham Market,12 Noon – 4 pm. 312 Blackwell St., Stu. 103, Durham

Saturday, April 26: South Durham Farmer’s Market at Central Park, 9 am – 12 Noon

Annual Plant Sale 2025, brought to you by Friends of Durham Co. Extension Master Gardeners

Briggs Avenue Community Garden Spring Festival and Plant Sale

Saturday, April 12: 10 am – 2 pm. 1314 S. Briggs Avenue, Durham

Join Durham County Extension Master Gardener volunteers for this annual event which includes a vegetable, fruit, and herb plant sale. Enjoy kids’ activities and free compost and seeds while they last.

The Ask a Master Gardener Program is an opportunity for members of the community to ask questions about gardening and learn more about the NC State Extension Master GardenerSM program. Durham County Master Gardener volunteers are available to provide answers using research-based information about plants and plant problems. They come prepared with a variety of gardening handouts, seeds for planting, and even some games for children!

You’ll find Master Gardener volunteers at the following community events during November, 2024:

  • November 02: Durham Grown presented by the Durham County Library Garden Club will be holding a community Plant Swap for Gardeners of all levels, Bring some plants to swap with other gardeners! 2pm-4pm. More info: Durham Grown
  • November 16: North Durham Farmers’ Market A community-based market that offers a wide variety of fresh produce, artisanal goods, homemade products and handcrafted items.
