What We Do – Growing Edition

Are you interested in becoming a Extension Master Gardener Volunteer in 2015? Please plan to attend one of our information sessions to be held at 721 Foster St. 

• September 9th, 10:00 am – 12:00 noon
• September 18th, 10:00 am – 12:00 noon
• September 23rd, 1:00 – 3:00 pm
• October 2nd, 1:00 – 3:00 pm
• October 7th, 10:00 am – 12:00 noon

We do more than answering questions. There are plenty of opportunities to get your hands dirty as a Master Gardener Volunteer! Durham Extension Master Gardener Volunteers volunteer to help maintain the community garden at Briggs Avenue.  Pictured below, Master Gardeners work to install an irrigation system at the Briggs Ave Garden.

Members Margaret Lee, Gregory Farrington, Barbara Goodman, Wanda Crutchfield, Sara Parsons, and Jean Findley are shown below after spreading mulch at the Demonstration Garden located at the Cooperative Extension office building at 721 Foster Street. The Demonstration Garden includes shade beds, an herb garden, dry sunny areas, and more. All are labeled and maintained by volunteers.
